Collective Worship at Our Lady of Lourdes
Collective worship plays an important part in the Catholic life of Our Lady of Lourdes School. Each week, the children gather together as a whole school for a gospel assembly and a celebration assembly. As well as the daily prayers in the classrooms, the children also have opportunities to plan and lead their own collective worships where they choose the theme, scripture reading, activity and mission for everyone to work on, which further strengthens their relationship with God.
The school has a strong link with the church, with the parish priest being a regular visitor, talking to the children in class as well as leading prayer and liturgies with the whole school. We also attend Mass regularly at the church for feast days and celebrations as well as individual classes joining parishioners for a morning service.
